For our scented candle - FIGARO, we collaborated with ShanTi Creations, a woman owned company located in Queens, New York. Sticking true to our values and making each and every product non-toxic, as sustainable as possible and using local production, ShanTi Creations is the perfect fit. They produce natural coconut wax candles in Mason jars for easy repurposing options and only clean, non-toxic ingredients.  After ten years building her management career in the bar and restaurant industry, owner of ShanTi Creations, Danielle O’Connor found her self wanting to create for herself instead of someone else. The "Gitane" in CAFE GITANE

Ever wondered where the "Gitane" in CAFE GITANE comes from? Firstly "gitane" means "gypsy woman" in French, but some of you might know Gitanes, the French cigarette brand that launched in 1910 and was known for their filterless cigarettes. Especially in the 70s and 80s Gitanes made many appearances in pop culture and celebs like Slash, guitarist for Guns N' Roses, Serge Gainsbourg, and The Thin White Duke, David Bowie's persona form 1975 to 1976 famously smoked Gitanes.   Now, we are not saying that cigarettes, or smoking are "cool", but In July 2016, the French government considered a ban on the Gitanes cigarette brand because they were deemed "too stylish and cool". CHRIS FEREBEE x CAFE GITANE

The first artist to collaborate with us on the Limited Edition Tees is Chris Ferebee. He has a long history with Cafe Gitane, after meeting the owner back in the 90s, when he was selling his art on the Prince Street Market (which was not really an official market back then).
